“The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own”
Nearly 50 million children around the world are fleeing war or extreme poverty. Many of these children are escaping the appalling humanitarian crises in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and South Sudan. This is the worst child refugee crisis since World War II.
Images and the eyes of the children who have experienced such trauma, illustrates a reality that transcends the somber statistic. The photographer Magnus Wennman, documents the dolorous everyday condition of children fleeing the war in Syria: http://www.unhcr.org/en-us/news/stories/2016/6/5702c1594/where-the-children-sleep.html
